Sunfish Pond Boulders
The weather looked right to go and work some projects, so I headed off to Doe Run before sunrise to try and tackle the Fool’s Gold Project. By the time I arrived it was like a cruel prank and it started to drizzle. Knowing that prime friction was need for this line to go I decided to turn the day into a discovery day and a discover was made…
So I tromped around Loyalsock Forest with my GPS and checked out some areas I felt had potential, but getting skunked 3 times, I decided to chase the nice weather back closer to home. Not giving up I took a hike to one last spot I had in mind. Sunfish Pond, these boulders do exist and they are very niiiice. The great thing is that most* of the lines appear and feel to be in the V-veryvery hard range with is quite welcome with most of the nearby areas not having those difficult lines. Not to mention fantastic rock quality.
I spent about 2 hours working one line on the 3 photo in. A very steep and crimpy line, which feels to be the hardest boulder problem I have ever tried. So syked!
Uninspiring, out of focus and washed out boulder photos below.
