Long Valley had a few trips for initial development trips and only a select number of boulders were cleaned and sent. About 50% was left untouched and untapped. A couple trips during the early winter allowed more exploration and cleaning.

By some chance decided to head out and the access gate was open! Finally had a chance to go out and get back on some of the boulders that were waiting for ascents. Blood Diamond is another Long Valley compression problem. This one is a little unique with an interesting mantle onto slab then another mantle again. Double mantle! One month of open gate will hopefully lead to more development of this amazing area.

Falls Creek is a small area with a handful of boulders, but these boulders in my opinion are nearly perfect. Amazing features, rock quality and an approachable aesthetic location makes this area a worth while visit. Since discovery, I have been working to try and take down one of the most obvious & beautiful lines there. The sit start to Sleepwalker , which climbs the arete on the first boulder you encounter. Finally what has seemingly been a constant battle of failure became a success. So syked to take this down.

I have recently been super surprised with amount of boulders being found recently. Everyone has been out there getting after the seek and destroy missions coming back with some big news. 2013 is going to be a huge year for regional development.

Sunday, as usual I zipped out to Northern PA to continue where I left off last weekend. When I got there it was white out conditions so I had to rely on the trusty GPS to get me up the mountain. Where I wanted to search was to my right but, for some strange reason when the sun came out I decided to look over that way. Just on top of the hill appeared to be something large with snow resting on it. What! I changed course and headed that way. As I approached closer it was clear this was one massive boulder.

I wish I had something for a point of reference but the small roof on the very left of the first picture is at head height. Boosh!
